Gina Flanagan is the Assistant to the Vice President for Student Development. In this role, she provides administrative support to the Vice President as well as manages Board operations for the Student Development Committee of the Board of Trustees. Gina serves as a Core member of the University’s Threat Assessment Team where she schedules ad-hoc meetings and serves as the Team’s Recorder. Before joining the Office of Student Development, Gina was the Executive Assistant to the EVP and Provost which included coordinating events such as the University’s annual Colloquy event, providing administrative support to three Associate Provosts, and in her service to the Faculty Senate, supported 5 Senate Presidents and their Executive Teams.
Gina is a proud Spider and is continuously working on her Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree through the School of Professional & Continuing Studies. She received her Mini MBA from the Robins School of Business. She has served on a variety of University committees, including USAC where she created the University’s first parenting affinity group for staff as well as multiple executive searches, including dean searches, associate provosts, directors, and an assortment of positions at multiple levels.
Gina enjoys volunteering for the Richmond Habitat for Humanity Women Build program. She also enjoys watercolor painting, snorkeling, and spending time with her husband Michael, and their four children, one of whom is a Rising Senior at the University.
