Our Community Standards
A fundamental aspect of a University of Richmond education, as stated in its mission, is the fostering of a community “dedicated to the holistic development of students and the production of scholarly and creative work.” The purpose of our Community Standards is to provide the foundation of that community.
Our community places a high value on personal integrity, honesty, trust, and responsibility. Respect and care for others and the community are paramount. The actions of students, both inside and outside of the classroom, impact the learning environment and our shared community.
As a result, the regulation of academic and non-academic conduct are the responsibility of the University. The Community Standards applies to the behavior of students from when they apply to the University until the awarding of a degree or other termination of enrollment. All students at the University of Richmond are bound by the policies and regulations contained within the Community Standards.
